In 2021 I made work for an exhibition in Shanghai about touch and technology. I was not able to attend the opening because of covid and so I made an installation to bridge the physical distance between the UK and China. Myself and 29 family and friends all made an imprint of our hands into a piece of clay, these were numbered and combined with portraits of us all so that visitors to the exhibition could ‘hold the hand’ of someone close to me from the venue.
